As the Lead Big Data Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and developing Maestro’s Big Data engineers and resources. You will work closely with various business units to develop valuable reporting tools, while also implementing key metrics for new and existing products.

• Manage Maestro’s Big Data Engineering team as direct reports
• Develop reporting tools for various business units
• Maintain the health and scalability of the data-collection pipeline on GCP
• Work with product to manage and develop the event ontology
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to make strategic technical decisions
• Contribute to architectural planning and draft Architectural Design Records
• Work with product and project management teams to help define product direction, feature scope, and plan sprints
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and foster a positive and supportive engineering culture

• 4+  years of experience, developing Big Data applications and pipelines
• Experience with an analytical SQL language: BigQuery or RedShift
• Data processing engine experience: Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Apache Flink
• Experience building a team from the ground up
• Strong Java developer

All of the above plus the following:

• Have built streaming and batch apache beam pipelines launched on Google Cloud Platform
• Developed cost-effective queries against a large BigQuery warehouse (1 trillion records+)
• Google Cloud Certification: Data Engineer
• Experience leading a small team or mentoring junior devs
• Agile SCRUM
